The Edge are proud to present, in association with our member Eoin McAuley of TASQ Art, a remarkable insight into developing your narrative and storytelling skills to pursue a professional writer and artist career.

Joining us on Tuesday, March 18th, 10 am-1 pm at The Apex, Tallaght Enterprise Centre, our special edition of ‘Working Breakfast’ will feature leading industry experts in publishing and commercial sequential art, sharing their journeys along with valued lessons and advice gained. A unique series of panel talks and live demos will be delivered at this event before all attendees.

The three very special guests joining us are:

Brittany Holzherr is a Senior Editor at DC Comics, working on books such as Action

Comics, Wonder Woman, and Titans, along with several other titles across the DC Universe.

A graduate of NYU’s Cinema Studies program, she has been working at DC for over 12

years and leads the Themyscira Editorial Group. In her free time, Brittany enjoys movie

nights, a good cup of tea, and long walks with her beloved Golden Retriever, Copper.

A graduate of the iconic Joe Kubert School, Anthony Marques began his career working as

an editor for publishers DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment. A true student of the

medium, he was able to bring new and exciting visions to life as an artist for beloved

characters such as Batman, Superman, the Green Hornet, and the Ghostbusters.

In addition to working on numerous projects with these companies, he became an instructor at the Kubert School before eventually becoming president and owner of the institution. There he works with instructors to usher in the next generation of comic book creators.

Emma Kubert is a comic book creator, writer, artist, and teacher of the Joe Kubert School.

After graduating from the Kubert School in 2018, Emma went on to work for many different

companies, including DC Entertainment, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Tapas

Entertainment, Dynamite Comics, and more! Starting her career as a layout artist for DC’s

Teen Titans Raven graphic novel, she also served as an artist for Teen Titans Go!, DC Super

Hero Girls and Red Sonja. Emma, along with her partner Rusty Gladd, created their first

Image Comic’s project, Inkblot, published in 2020, both written and illustrated by them.

During this time, Emma also penciled and inked the Radiant Pink mini-series, a story a part

of Image Comic’s Radiant Black universe. She is well-known for her very own high-fantasy

ongoing series, Stoneheart, published by Image Comics and for her Grimm fairytale-like

artwork and visual direction on Frank Miller’s Pandora. Emma enjoys every bit of her comic

book life, even naming her orange cats Calvin and Hobbes, and hopes to bring that joy with

every project she creates.

In this exclusive event, which is free and open to the public, our trio of guests will explore in detail their professional development pipelines from leading industry perspectives.

This event is not to be missed by any aspiring creator and is the first of its kind to be held in this country.

A light breakfast and snacks will be served.
